Just added the final touches. First official oil portrait complete.
Anonymous: Hello Amanda! Recently i feel very pressed about finding my own style. I want to major in illustration. Could you give a few tips/advice about finding one's style? I really love your style and talent!! You're really awesome :)
Finding your style comes with hours and sometimes years of practice. Some artists find it sooner than others. The most important thing is that you need to be yourself, work hard, work very hard, be patient, and practice with as many mediums as you can. The best advice I got was from one of my teachers; When you reach your 500th drawing you will be a great artist. When you reach your 1000th drawing you will be an even better artist. Keep setting the bar high, best advice anyone has ever given me. Now start, Cheers :)
My first work in progress for the new year is something I’ve never tried before; An oil painted portrait. Yes, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and explore a little. Pencils and black and white are my first love but I must say, it feels good to experiment with color.
Illustrations, life, work in progress, cats; these are some of the many things you will find on my Instagram.

PILLARS OF CREATION
Some of you may already know that I am completely fascinated by cosmology and astronomy. I made this poster a few months back inspired by The Pillars of Creation which are located within the Eagle Nebula. Just to give you a sense of scale, one of the pillars is 7 light years tall… It would take Voyager 140,000 years to travel that distance. Blows me away every time.
